Eating, Sleeping, and then Eat Some More

Hello Heinz and Joel, We have a brilliant Sunday day. The outside temperature is at 23-24 Celsius, perfect for airing babies. We have kept the balcony door open all day, as every day since her arrival, and have Erita placed high above all of Hong Kong, looking down the green hill, pass the Aberdeen Valley and Harbour, and out beyond on to the South China Sea further on.

It was only so long ago since we left another part of the same contiguous water http://www.achamchen.com/exile_fm_paradise.htm

Feeding and Sleeping all Day Posted by Hello

I had first checked on Erita at 5:00am in the hospital nursery. This has become my habit over the past few days.

Next time marker was the 7:00am feeding when she is rolled into our room and mom the food processor is roused awake. The baby stays with us until 10:00pm.

We have been using the hours of the day productively, doing nothing, nourishing ourselves, greeting visitors, laughing, and learning to take care of the baby, from cleaning, wrapping, to just staring at her.

The Football Hold Posted by Hello

Erita has been a relatively easy baby so far; she cries, but loudly, when she wants to be changed or fed, or just cuddled for 5 minutes, and sleeps quietly for intervals of 3-4 hours at a time. She enjoys all the visitors handling her this way and that. She does not get bothered by folks conversing around her nor seems to mind her daddy laughing uproariously at the P.G. Warehouse’s “Wooster and Jeeves” comedy DVD.

While Erita does not mind her daddy’s comedy DVDs, she definitely prefers the Mediterranean Lullaby (Ellipsis Arts), Dreamland Lullaby (Putamayo), and Louis Armstrong’s Song Book (Universal).

Ok, enough about babies, for now, for the next few minutes.

I have not had too much time lately to dwell on the coming TeoTwawKi and how best to take advantage of it, or even on how not to get too hurt.

TeoTwawKi is still coming, as indicated by everything except the USD rising last week, and by what I believe to be increased pace of spending of USD by People’s Bank of China (PBOC). “Spending” is another word meaning “getting rid of”.

On the subject of spending, the Noranda deal seems to be progressing well, so far, and for chump change of USD, what, 5PointOdd billion of use-less paper. The Canadians seem to be adopting a practical view:

“Allow China `fair access' to Canadian markets”

I will bet, should the Russians take an equivalent attitude, then their Yukos issue would be no more. The amusing thing at that point would be to watch Stratfor.com make a positive for the Homeland out of an ever more convoluted geo-scape.

Bath time, must go ...
