Erita,  the name stands for “The Royal Coconut of the Great Valley” in the Tahitian language.

(Coconut, Forever Dawn, born in the Year of the Monkey, on October 6th, 2004 (ten coconuts on six trees, sun rise, get it :0)

Water colour by Derek Sancho December 2004)

Erita Lee Acham Chen, pronounced Ae-Ri-Ta Lee A-Kam Chen is the English name of our first-born daughter, born on the 6th of October, 2004, in the Year of the Golden Monkey.

Our Erita was conceived in Tahiti, on the island of Bora Bora, the island of the First Born, the first island to emerge from the water after the creation of Raiatea.

For our pilgrimage, we approached the Bora Bora, the elemental island of First Born, just so in mid-January 2004 ... a spec of earth measuring just under 17 square miles, around a central lagoon described by James Michener, "is so stunning, there are really no adequate words to describe it"

Chen Ai-Li is Erita's Chinese name. The name means "Forever Dawn".

Erita will continue the journey that her antecedents started, sometimes daringly, often with much luck, and perhaps always wisely :0)

It was only a few days ago that I was so small, and now  I wish Erita all the best of luck on her journey ...
